First Unit of Cambodia Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Station Successfully Connects with Grid 2013-12-23

Recently, the first unit of Cambodia Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Station built by our company has successfully passed the 72-hour trial operation, and officially moves into the commercial operation. The station is the largest hydropower station in Cambodia, and the largest overseas hydropower project built by Huadian Group.

Located in Khet Kaoh Kong Province, western Cambodia Kingdom, Stung Russei Chrum Downstream Hydropower Station is about 180km away from the Capital Phnom Penh in the west, and 20km (linear distance) away from Krong Koh Kong City in the north. The project is consisted of the two cascades: upper station and lower station of the Stung Russei Chrum Downstream Hydropower Station. It is planned to build four units with total installed capacity reaching 338MW and yearly power generation standing at 1.1 billion KWH and investment totaling USD 578 million.

As a subsidiary of SAC, Nanjing Hehai Automation Co.,Ltd (HHNZ) is the integrator for the project secondary equipment and system, and it supplies the whole set of SD8000 hydropower computer monitoring, auxiliaries control and microcomputer protection system along with 144 equipment cabinets. To ensure the smooth execution of the project, we created the Stung Russei Chrum group, and dispatch skilled professionals to go to site batch by batch according to the site progress, which ensures the successful operation of the first unit in one go. The operation and power generation of the first unit is contributive to the local economic and social development. The 2# unit of the project has commenced the commissioning with water. The service personage with HHNZ still stick to their post, work hard at site and fully coordinate the site commissioning during the China National Day, making sure to put the two units of the upper station into operation and power generation by and before the last ten days of October.

Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Station is the overseas hydropower project built by HHNZ with largest installed capacity so far. The SD8000 computer monitoring system R&D on our own receives good remarks and recognition from the owner. The successful operation of the first unit marks another solid stride forward made by HHNZ in the field of hydropower automation, which lays solid foundation for its entry into the international market.
